AFRUCA – Africans Unite Against Child Abuse

Our charity was established in May 2001, as a platform for advocating the rights and welfare of African children following the deaths of children like Victoria Climbie, Jude Akapa and Damilola Taylor in the UK. Our charity is a leading organisation in the UK, providing specialist support exclusively for Africans aged 12-25, who have been victims of child trafficking. We are proud to have supported over 300 children and young people in the past six years.

Current & previous projects:

  • The Domestic Slavery Project funded by the Home Office.
  • Working with faith organisations to safeguard black/African children in the West Midlands.
  • A support service for families and victims across Greater Manchester.

How would the prize money help our community projects?

This donation will go a long way in allowing us to continue our efforts in promoting the rights and welfare of African children and families in the UK. Therefore, proudly being their voice and filling a vital gap in the child protection services.
